IPTV Support Engineer

Due to a number of recent wins with some of Australia’s largest Telco companies – my client now seeks an IPTV Support Engineer. My client is a leading IPTV Company with offices worldwide – they require someone who can support and troubleshoot thier leading IPTV Products for the corporate customers.

This role offers an immediate start and good market rate salary. As you will be mostly on the phone we will require good communication skills for this role.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of basic networking / web skills; TCP, UDP, QoS, HTTP, XML, Web services. (2+ years).
• Linuxdiagnostic skills / abilities (Linux+, RHCT certifications) ideally in anembedded environment (set top box, mobile etc.) although unixsupport / administration is acceptable (2+ years)
• Java & Java scripting skills from development environments (3+ years)
• SVN based development environments (2+ years)

Job Description:

Provides a central point of contact for all support related activities on the customer’s IPTV project. You will have the following responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot issues during testing and when the product is in production by analysing problems and providing the necessary diagnostics to determine the root cause.
• In depth analysis of logs, a sound understanding of the application architecture and timely communication with the customer to ensure they are kept abreast of progress.
• Test coordination with the customers’ testing teams and the development team overseas which will includes managing and synchronising customer’s defect management systems, updating the customer on defect resolution progress, replicating issues and assisting with defect prioritisation.
• Set up and maintenance of the development environment used by local 3rd party partners

Skills

• Trouble issue tracking and resolution and experience in conforming to SLA requirements. Has worked on Level 2-3 helpdesks (2+ years)
• Excellent communication and good client management skills
