Senior SOA / Java / JMS Developer

We seek a Senior SOA / Java JMS Developer to assist the project team with the successful implementation of various Java based SOA services. The senior developer will analyse, design, develop and test enterprise integration interfaces using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and selected tools to satisfy the project’s needs.

The candidate will come from a strong Java, Web Services and integration technology background with in depth knowledge of SOA and Web Services. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analysis and design of interfaces based on interface requirements;
• Develop working interfaces from an interface definition/requirements/design as required;
• Liaising with architects, data modellers, functional specialists, subject matter experts and other technical &business user staff to ensure interfaces meet business integration requirements;
• Follow technical and architectural standards;
• Apply knowledge of development & programming industry practices to interface development;
• Develop and/or modify and adapt systems, interfaces, and programs to meet specified business needs.

SOA and ESB Technologies

• Solid understanding of Services Oriented Architecture (SOA);
• Excellent experience with XML, WSDL (Web Service Description Language), and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol);
• Excellent working knowledge of mainstream messaging systems in particular Java Message Service (JMS);
• Knowledge of current ESB technologies and excellent knowledge of one or more mainstream ESB implementations. Hands on experience with Oracle’s SOA Suite and Fusion Middleware stack will be highly regarded;
• Working knowledge of mainstream RDBMS such in particular, Oracle DBMS;
• BPEL (Business Process Execution Language), BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) and business orchestration knowledge will be highly regarded.

Java Technologies

• Solid experience with the following technology set:
• Java and J/EE
• Ant, Maven
• Solid experience designing and developing fit for purpose Web Services.

Requirements

• 5 years commercial experience (preferably with medium-large corporations);
• 3 years commercial experience with designing and developing large scale complex interfaces using J/EE;
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing interfaces using Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services;
• Excellent team player with ability to perform under pressure;
• Excellent oral and written skills.
