We are looking for a Business Analyst with previous data migration and equity market exposure. You’ll have good experience working on migration projects and have demonstrated skills in the security trading domain (equities, options and warrants). The successful candidate will work within a small, close knit migration team that we’ve hand picked from conception. Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Work with business users to elicit and define user requirements through the use of the most appropriate method(s), and translate them into design documents
  • Effective use of data and process modelling techniques (including use cases, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, ERDs and dataflow modelling) to analyse and represent information in an effective form, in order to translate business requirements into meaningful design documents
  • Produce conceptual designs to ensure a common understanding of the solution
  • Analysis of source and target data models
  • Data profiling and development of data quality rules and data cleansing requirements
  • Data mapping, orchestration and development of data transformation business rules
  • Creating, where appropriate, discussion documents to assist in resolution of issues
  • Provide input to establishing, managing and reporting project management activities to ensure management awareness of activities, issues and outcomes
  • Liaise with business SMEs and technical representatives to offer advice and direction regarding requirements, and resolution of issues and conflicts. 
  • Development and execution of test scenarios 
Required skills and experience:
  • 5 years experience in IT projects
  • Good track record as an analyst in large, complex data migration projects (at least 3 years)
  • 3 years in a securities trading  business environment (particularly equities, options and warrants)
  • Experience in a private wealth management business environment preferred
  • Good understanding of data migration project delivery principles
  • Good understanding of ETL concepts and/or exposure to a commercial ETL product, ideally IBM InfoSphere
  • Ability to communicate both business concepts to a technical audience and technology concepts to a business audience
  • Ability to facilitate workshop sessions with SMEs and senior managers with confidence and structure
  • Ability to work using Agile project management techniques

  • Strong track record as an ETL developer in large, complex data migration projects (at least 5 years)
  • 5 years in of experience in migration or ETL projects in the financial services area, ideally the securities trading  business environment
  • Sound understanding of ETL fundamentals and concepts
  • At least 3 years experience with IBM Data Stage; experience with version 8.x preferred
  • Good understanding of data migration project delivery principles
  • Ability to work using Agile project management techniques

This client a growing end user organisation is currently seeking a Hyperion Systems Administrator who will report directly to the Financial Systems Manager.

This is a brand new position and you will be responsible for the design and project delivery of Hyperion Planning/ESSBASE solutions.  The role works closely with Finance and the Financial Systems team to deliver on those designs. 

You will be considered the subject matter expert for all Hyperion BI and EPM.  The role will drive continuous improvement and develop modifications to meet changing business conditions.

Key Responsibilities of this role include;

  • Determine business needs and drivers through consultation and collaboration
  • Analysis of business systems to understand the process (and financial) impact.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple divisions 
  • Proactively seek ways to improve functionality via a continuous improvement focus
  • Monitor software product developments/trends to ensure productivity and competitive edge
  • Administer projects that deliver Hyperion enhancements which use an appropriate Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Perform all tasks in the implementation cycle, including business process definition, configuration and unit testing, support of user acceptance testing and post-live support
  • Develop and enhance the application processes that will result in a stable productive environment
    Writing Web Forms, Reports and Security settings

To be considered for this key role your skills will include;

  • Highly proficient in Hyperion Planning version 9 or higher (version 11 a plus)
  • Familiarity with SmartView and Essbase Add-In tools for planning and reporting
  • Skilled in multidimensional data analysis
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Hyperion Systems Administrator. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hyperion Data Relationship Management  (DRM) / Master Data Management (MDM) functionality and capability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Financial Services background is preferred
  • Strong ability to converse with both end users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation
