PRIVACY POLICY

In compliance with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 CITI Recruitment Ltd Pty have developed and implemented a privacy policy setting out the way in which personal information is handled. The Act regulates the way that many private sector organisations collect, use, keep secure and disclose personal information. It gives individuals the right to know what information an organisation holds about them and a right to correct information if it is wrong.
Please read this document carefully before using the CITI Recruitment website or before forwarding any information that you may consider to be personal. Usage of the Web site is conditional upon you agreeing to the information contained in this privacy policy.
In line with the Privacy Policy, by using the CITI Recruitment Website or registering with CITI Recruitment:
• You understand that if you disclose your personal information to us by registering for positions with our clients, we may keep a record about you on our confidential retrieval system;
• If you use our recruitment and contracting services, you agree for us to collect personal information about you;
• You agree for us to contact you with information regarding positions that match your skills and experience (unless you have said that you do not wish to be contacted);
• You understand that your continued use of the CITI Recruitment Website following any revisions of the Privacy Policy indicates your agreement with the revised policy.
Personal Information
This policy refers to personal information collected and held by CITI Recruitment. Personal Information is defined as:
“Information or an opinion (including information or an opinion forming part of a database) whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or the opinion.” (Hunt & Hunt Lawyers)
Collection of Personal Information
CITI Recruitment Pty Ltd will not collect or monitor any personal information about you without your consent. CITI Recruitment recognises the importance of your privacy and we respect your right to control how your personal information is collected and used.
We collect the personal information of candidates for employment purposes, including consideration in the recruitment process. The main purposes being:
• To present clients with a thorough understanding of candidates’ skills and experience
• To present clients with an independent verification of their skills and experience
• To provide clients with an assessment of their suitability for a position we are seeking to fill on a client’s behalf
The personal information that we collect is what you tell us about yourself. For example when applying for one of our advertised positions or registering your details with us, we ask you for information such as your name, address, email address, information relevant to your employment and, if relevant, the position which you are seeking. For employment purposes we may also seek personal information from referees that you have provided. Any collection of your personal information other than that explained here will only occur with your consent.
Use and disclosure of personal information
Any information that is received will be treated as strictly confidential. CITI Recruitment will only disclose personal information for the purpose for which it was collected or in accordance with the act (e.g. where you have consented or where you would reasonably expect this to occur). CITI Recruitment will usually disclose such information to the employer of the position being applied for.
We may use or disclose personal information without consent where:
• It is for a reasonably expected purpose related to the purposes for collecting the information in accord with the Privacy Policy
• We reasonably believe it is necessary to assist an enforcement body to perform its functions
• We suspect that an unlawful activity has been, is being or may be engaged in and the personal information is a necessary part of our investigation or reporting of the matter
• We reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent a threat to life, health or safety
• We are authorised or required by the law to do so (e.g. where the information is required by bodies regulating us or in response to subpoenas or warrants)
• We have contracted an external organisation to provide support services and that organisation has agreed to conform to our privacy standards.

We do not disclose the personal information of candidates or contractor to others, except where it is:
• To a company related to us
• To organisations which provide services (such as psychometric testing) to us
• With the consent of the candidate or contractor or where such consent may be presumed (as defined above)
• Necessary to do so in order to advance the interests of a candidate with a client
• Required by law
Holding of Personal Information and Security
CITI Recruitment will at all times endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information which we hold about you and to keep this information accurate and up to date at all times. We require that all employees and database administrators uphold confidentiality of any personal information that exists within the company.
Generally, we hold the personal information of a candidate or contractor in a combination of computer storage facilities and paper-based files and other records.
These facilities and records are located at Suite 1001, Level 10, 45 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000. All computer systems are password protected and firewall protected and the physical premises is protected by a monitored alarm system.
How to obtain access and make corrections to personal information

If at any time a candidate wishes to amend personal information that is inaccurate or out of date, you may make an application for access by emailing info@citirecruitment.com and requesting an application form.
We will respond to the request as quickly as possible, but not more than 14 days after the request has been made. The Privacy Amendment [Private Sector] Act 2000 provides that a company may require the applicant to meet the reasonable costs of providing this access. Depending on circumstances you may be charged reasonable time and material recovery costs.

How to make an inquiry / complaint
If a candidate has a complaint about how our company is handling their personal information they should direct that complaint to our Director (Steve Wilson). We will respond to the complaint as quickly as possible but no more that 14 days after complaint has been lodged.
