Global Law Firm is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Support Officer 

The Role :

As a Technical Support & Audio Visual Officer, forming part of the Technology User Support team, you are responsible for the daily operations of the audio visual service, predominantly on the client floors.
You will be required to provide high quality support to internal and external clients. You are also the first port of call for any customer enquiries and problems relating to Technology. Support is given both over the phone and in person

Key Accountabilities : 

  • Taking first line calls from users based in any of the firm’s offices with enquiries or problems – 80% fixed on first
  • Monitoring and actioning user queries from the help desk mailbox
  • Providing application support, such as document formatting, for Word, Power point, Excel and others
  • Setting up, installing and/or configuring software and hardware and ensuring 100% functionality
  • Ensuring network availability through a thorough understanding of the network topology, while carrying out effective cable management
  • Performing a high level of in depth troubleshooting and resolving problems in a timely and effective manner
  • Effectively escalating issues where appropriate after in-depth troubleshooting has been exhausted
  • Maintaining comprehensive call records for analysis and monitoring Relocation of equipment
  • Registering and issuing loan equipment
  • Assisting with routine maintenance and system/network procedures
  • Updating firm asset records
  • User account administration
  • Contributing to review and refine internal procedures
  • Ensuring Technology policies and processes are followed accordingly when dealing with IT requests

Qualifications and Competencies : 

Education :

Essential
• Attainment of or progression towards Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows 7

Desirable
• Attainment of or progression towards ITIL Foundation certification

Knowledge and experience:

Essential

  • Proven ability to clarify, priorities, and resolve technical issues in a Windows 7, Office 2010 environment
  • Experience in an audio visual environment
  • Troubleshooting skills for supporting remote users (ADSL, Broadband, Citrix remote desktop, etc.)
  • Experience with peripheral devices. (blackberries, iPhones etc.)
  • Active directory skills – ability to maintain, create, and delete user accounts.
  • Understanding of network topology
  • Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshoot VOIP telephone handsets.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to be flexible, innovative, resourceful and self motivated, and be able to learn on the job
  • Good communication skills
  • A high level of organisational skills
  • An eye for detail
  • A professional manner
  • The ability to work in a local and national team environment

Desirable

  • Experience in a large corporate environment;
  • Core technologies (Windows 7, Office 2010; Desksite; Outlook
  • and Service Desk call logging system).
